Here at Norwich Glass Company, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional work, from the initial first project discussion all the way through to expert installation and advice. In this case study, we’ll go into detail on a home renovation project we were involved in, providing new glass features for the client to upgrade their new home before moving in.
What the client wanted
- Bespoke mirrors
- Glass balustrades for stairs
- Double-glazed windows
The client was looking to renovate the property before they moved in, wanting something new and fresh. They requested bespoke mirrors in their bathroom and glass balustrades to line their staircase for a modern feel. While we were in the process of fitting the glass balustrades, the client asked us to replace the double-glazed units around the property for a more insulated and energy-efficient home.
What we did
- Surveyed all glass features to size
- Installed professionally in property
Our professional glaziers installed three 6mm silver mirrors with a polished edge, to be placed around the client’s property. Next was the bespoke balustrades for the stairs, featuring three polished, 10mm toughened glass panels installed expertly. Finally, we replaced four double-glazed units in the client’s new home.
Length of project
This project was split into three parts, each actioned separately over the course of five months.
First, the requested mirrors were surveyed for early March, then cut and fitted by 28/03/24.
Next, the stair balustrades were surveyed late June, then cut and fitted by 12/07/24.
Finally, the double-glazed units were measured during the balustrade installation, and installed on 29/07/24.
Each project within this renovation was executed quickly and efficiently so that the client could get into their new, finished home as soon as possible.
Our advice to the client
When completing projects, we give our clients advice, whether that be design opinions or care tips, as we believe customer service is essential. Our process is to work with the client every step of the way.
When the original survey was carried out for this client, we provided our professional opinion on the design of their requests, ensuring the glass features would look good and work at their best. For the balustrades, we spoke to the client about the option of the glass fitted into a rebate or the use of glass clamps, of which they chose the glass to be installed into the rebated staircase.
The client’s thoughts
The client, Richard, had this to say about the work Norwich Glass Company did:
“I have recently had 3 large mirrors installed, glass for my galleried staircase and replacement double-glazed units. On every occasion, the service, from survey to final fitting, was nothing short of outstanding. I highly recommend this company.”
